One of my favorite things to do as I get older.
It seems that laminate is just getting cheaper and cheaper to buy. The problem with the cheap products is that as they cheapen them, it seems it tales longer and longer to install.
One of my favorite products is the engineered wood flooring. i have used the hand scraped version and I really like the look. I installed some five years ago in my wife's piano room and it looks as good today as the day I installed it.
One problem for the DIyer is how do you hide the ends when you get to a doorway. Pro's use specialized saws for undercutting or one of those multi tools that everyone is selling now. Then all you have to do is fight to get it under the part you cut out.
If anyone has questions on installs, post them up here and I will be happy to answer them
By the way, I have installed over 5000 square feet over the last 3 years and have gotten fairly good at installing them for people.
